Better Business Bureau® Serving Greater Cleveland presented its Champion of Integrity at its annual celebration on April 18, 2024.
Taylor Oswald President and CEO, Eddie Taylor was recognized as this year’s recipient for providing leadership and community engagement opportunities throughout Northeast, Ohio.
“Eddie is not only recognized as an entrepreneur and civic leader, but his dedication lies in embedding the fundamental principles of diversity, equity, integrity, and trust into his business model,” stated Sue McConnell, president of BBB. “We are proud to recognize him as this year’s Cary Root Champion of Integrity.”
When receiving the award, Taylor was quick to shine a light on the Taylor Oswald team.
“About a year ago, we started a journey to refresh our strategic plan,” he explained. “And as strategic plans go, they need to be memorable. They needed to have words that endure our world, and our word became ‘intrepid.’ What’s it mean? Well, for me, it’s a fearlessness to do what’s best for our employees and for our clients.”
“As we spell it out, we assigned meaning to every letter,” he continued. “In ‘I’ we are innovative, nimble, trusted… But inside [of the acronym] there’s also integrity. I didn’t want to simply define those words myself so, we asked our staff what it means to them to have integrity in our business practices. They included ‘doing what’s right, regardless of outside influence.’ ‘Unwavering in your personal character and professionalism,’ and ‘Bringing your truest self and your work product forward each and every day.’”
Taylor concluded, “How do you bring your truest self forward each and every day? That’s a display of integrity in my view. I say thank you to my team for your efforts as we are in this on this journey, having the integrity at the core of our operation.”
