When you think about property and casualty insurance, it’s easy to focus only on the paperwork, premiums, or claims. But for our team, it’s so much more than that—it’s about exploring how the world manages risk and bringing those insights back to you. That’s why my recent visit to Lloyd’s of London, the world’s leading insurance marketplace, was such a powerful reminder of the role we play in protecting what matters most to our clients.
A Glimpse Across the Pond
The Lloyd’s building itself is a conversation starter. With its futuristic “inside-out” design—pipes, elevators, and services on the outside—it feels like something from a sci-fi movie. Inside, though, it tells a story. Each floor is a hub of activity, dedicated to different lines of business, where brokers and underwriters meet face-to-face to discuss risk, negotiate coverage, and shape protection strategies. It’s a marketplace alive with history yet constantly adapting to meet modern challenges.

Being in the Llyod’s building made me even more grateful for Taylor Oswald’s new corporate headquarters on Main Ave in Cleveland. Like Llyod’s, if affords us the space to host face-to-face meetings with clients, underwriters, carriers, and local leaders. This communication is a key component to finding optimal protection and value.
Why This Matters for You
For me, standing in Lloyd’s was more than just a professional experience. It was a reminder of why I do what I do. I didn’t grow up dreaming of working in insurance (I wanted to be an archaeologist, like Indiana Jones!) But what I’ve discovered is that protecting people, businesses, and futures is its own kind of adventure. Insurance has always been here, and it always will be—because the world keeps evolving, and with it, the risks we face.

Visiting Lloyd’s reinforced a truth: our job is to anticipate what’s next, to help clients prepare, and to fit the pieces of an ever-changing puzzle together. Technology, new industries, and emerging risks make this puzzle more complex—and more exciting—than ever. And when the puzzle feels overwhelming, our role is simple: help you solve it, so you can get back to your passion.
A Global Mindset, A Personal Mission
Lloyd’s defines its mission as “sharing risk to create a braver world.” That resonates deeply with us. Taylor Oswald’s mission and purpose are anchored in similar ideas. Your peace of mind comes from knowing that we are constantly looking outward—curious about the world, attentive to changes, and determined to deliver optimal protection and significant value. We seek to build lasting and trusting relationships with every interaction, every day.
A Few Fun Facts from the World of Risk
I couldn’t leave London without noting Lloyd’s is known for insuring some of the world’s most unusual risks. From celebrity body parts to the Loch Ness Monster, these quirky policies make headlines, but they highlight an important point: if there’s a risk, there’s a way to insure it.

Both humbling and energizing, my takeaway from the visit to London was that the world of risk may be constantly evolving, but our mission remains clear: to provide you with optimal protection, true peace of mind and value. That’s what fuels our team’s curiosity, and ultimately, that’s what fuels your security.
