CLEVELAND – Jan. 7, 2020 – Taylor Oswald, a minority business enterprise and partner company of Oswald Companies, has expanded its footprint with the opening of new office space in Oswald Centre, 1100 Superior Ave. Cleveland. The 6,000-square-foot office expansion accommodates the firm’s current and future growth, and more specifically in serving the risk, insurance and supplier diversity strategy needs in the municipality/government, construction, education, nonprofit and health care fields.
The move caps an intensive growth year for the firm in 2019, which has included the addition of five new employee-owners to the team, including the firm’s first Cincinnati presence with sales associate Chris Owens. Future plans include extension of Taylor Oswald into other Oswald major markets, including Detroit and Columbus.
Also in November 2019 Taylor Oswald launched a new website at www.TaylorOswald.com including new videos and an overall brand refresh.
“We are excited to launch our new homes, both in our new office, and online publishing platform at TaylorOswald.com,” said Eddie Taylor Jr., President Taylor Oswald. “Here we now have new opportunities to welcome our clients into our world, and help tell our story through the eyes of our team members and clients, and we look forward to the chance for you to get to know us better.”
Special Message from Robert Klonk, Chief Executive Officer, Oswald Companies
Why was Taylor Oswald formed? At the turn of this decade, the senior leaders of Oswald Companies took a hard look in the mirror. The reflection? Diversity within our employee base, our clients, and our communities, was growing, and the diversity in our industry and leadership, was not. It was time to take action.
We made purposeful and permanent moves in the right direction with the establishment of our breakthrough partnership with Taylor Oswald and the formation of our Women’s Leadership Council.
Through these partnerships, more women have achieved leadership positions at Oswald and on our Board, as well we’ve created increased hiring and leadership opportunities for minority candidates to find their path in the risk and insurance field as employees of Oswald and Taylor Oswald.
We’ve changed the rules without changing our mission, and we’ve never been stronger because of it.
Your support of Taylor Oswald allows us to continue to attract, hire and develop minorities in risk and insurance careers, which provides more than a job, but long-term and lucrative career opportunities.
Our ultimate goal is to grow Taylor Oswald to become the largest African American owned and minority staffed agency in the country, as well as one of the Top 100 Brokers in the country.
When we’re asked why Taylor Oswald, we simply answer, someone had to take the first step. Our 126-plus-year-history has been forged through challenging the status quo; outpacing risk by doing what’s right.
In reflection, Oswald and Taylor Oswald together have worked tirelessly to pave a future without boundaries or barriers for anyone who seeks a career opportunity in our field. Moreover, we’ve welcomed a new world of clients who share these same commitments.
There is no looking back, only forward to what we can and will accomplish.
According to data from MBDA.gov (The Minority Business Development Agency) there are 8 million minority-owned firms in the U.S. that contribute $1.4 trillion in U.S. economic output and 7.2 million jobs per year. Women, minorities, veterans, and audiences from every walk of life are becoming business owners at record growth rates, with no signs of slowing down.
This is the future of business and leadership, and we’re here, today, helping to transform the lives and careers of those we serve through Taylor Oswald.
Diversity and Inclusion is paramount to us as we round the corner toward 2020: a new decade and new chance for all of us to learn, grow and expand our views.
We know this is important to you as well and we appreciate your support of helping Taylor Oswald achieve its goals and live its mission.
